About Saint Laurent

Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé founded Saint Laurent in Paris in 1961. In 1966 the house put the tuxedo suit, le smoking, into women's wardrobes and opened Rive Gauche, the first luxury ready-to-wear line. Kering has owned it since 1999.

It is a Paris luxury house in the top price tier. Leather bags, wallets and sunglasses carry the name at several price points, so a store can sell to a buyer choosing a first designer wallet as well as one buying an evening bag.
